The hugu hugu (sometimes spelled "hungu hungu") is another very popular rhythm in Garifuna music, and is often played in combination with punta. It has a slower pace than punta, and so the dancing that accompanies it is also much slower.
One of the most famous hugu hugu songs is "Baba", which featured on the album Watina by Andy Palacia, and is a traditional spiritual song, featured in the slideshow below.
